The job of HVAC was established for the purpose/s of maintaining heating/air conditioning systems; identifying repair and/or replacement needs; providing necessary information on the proper uses of the equipment; ensuring adequate materials are available to complete assignments in a timely manner; and directing assigned workers as necessary.

Work Year: 12 months 8 hrs./day 6:00am-2:30pm
Qualifications: High school diploma or its equivalent required. Three (3) to five (5) years’ of commercial HVAC experience required. Michigan Mechanical Contractor License preferred. Community College and/or Vocational School degree with study in a HVAC program desired. Must be able to meet physical demands of the working environment.
Essential Functions: •Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
• Diagnoses problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning / refrigeration systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and replacement needs. • Directs personnel as assigned for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the work force and meeting shift requirements. • Estimates materials and/or equipment needed to compete work projects for the purpose of ensuring timely completion of projects. • Installs heating/air conditioning/refrigeration equipment and systems for the purpose of providing comfort inside facilities. • Interprets schematic drawings or blueprints for the purpose of assisting in the layout and completion of work assignments. • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality for the purpose of ensuring efficient delivery of services to the District. • Maintains tools and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition. • Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information. • Repairs various items, systems and/or components for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe working condition. • Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items. • Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
• Transports various items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
• Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. |
