Primary Function: The job of ITS Technician I was established for the purpose/s of maintaining computer and network equipment in operating condition; meeting the technology needs of the district; documenting information and resolving immediate operational and/or safety concerns.

Hours of Position: 8:00am-4:30pm
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in job related field
Minimum of three years job related experience in specialized field required
Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certificate or equivalent preferred
Must be able to pass district's Network Operating Systems Proficiency Exam
Knowledge of operating/network systems and associated software required
Must have valid Michigan Driver's License
Must be able to meet the physical demands of work environment
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
•Assesses malfunctions of hardware for the purpose of determining appropriate actions to maintain computer and network operations.
•Attends meeting as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions. •Coordinates with other staff for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently. •Inspects computer and network equipment requiring specialized computer repair and trouble shooting skills for the purpose of identifying and verifying repair needs. •Maintains regular attendance and punctuality for the purpose of ensuring efficient delivery of services to the District. •Prepares written materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information. •Procures equipment, supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items and completing jobs efficiently. •Repairs computers, peripherals, network equipment and software, requiring specialized computer and electronics repair skills for the purpose of maintaining computer and network equipment in a safe and functional operating condition. •Requests quotations for the purpose of providing cost information, purchasing and securing items.
•Trains selected personnel for the purpose of ensuring their ability to use new and/or existing software.
•Transports a variety of items (e.g. equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of providing materials at job site or transporting equipment for repair. •Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. |
