Special Eduction District CI Teacher Consultant 

0.5 District CI/0.5 Green Acres Elementary School

1.0 FTE

Qualifications: 

• Master’s Degree and valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with the Cognitive Impairment Special Education endorsement required
• Michigan Teacher Certificate with CI Endorsement preferred
• At least three (3) years of teaching experience, two (2) years teaching in Special Education required
• CPI training preferred

Responsibilities:

• Educational consultation and intervention support for students with cognitive impairments, primarily in MOCI and MICI classrooms within the District  
• Provide consultation, modeling, and intervention strategies for teachers of students with cognitive impairments
• Educational consultation and intervention support for students with cognitive impairments 
• Provide consultation to general education classrooms to assist with inclusion practices?? 
• Coordinate CORE Vocabulary with AT SLP’s across District? 
• Attend PD with CCRR Teams? 
• Oversee/support MOCI & MICI PLC and Gold Standard initiatives? 
• Attend IEP’s for students with cognitive impairments as needed 
• Participate in CI Curriculum Committee Meetings 
• Participate in weekly meetings with Central Office Special Education staff
